Pride Was Hell.docx
[June 28th, 2024]
I am also gay so it's not that kind of hell, silly. It's more like the journey going to Metro Manila's Pride event was herculean. From where I was, it's a 2-hour bus ride and about an hour to account for the bus stop to the actual place. But of course, I was sorely wrong about that. The thing is, I've always wanted to go to a pride event but I never have anyone to go with. I don't have gay friends (anymore atleast) and I never had a social life past college. Anyways, this time around though I had a chance to go because I met someone on a discord reading session who said she was going to pride alone and I told her to message me so I can come with. It is a little funny because my life this month has been so fast paced from my social activities that I didn't have the time to overthink about going a two-hour bus ride side by side (possibly rib by rib because these damn bus companies can't provide ample amount of space damn, economy seats pushing its luck as always)with a literal stanger and the rest of the pride event but I was already breaking bread and pastry I grabbed on my way to the bus when I had these thoughts.
